The Selection Trilogy by Keira Cass

"35 girls. 1 crown. The competition of a lifetime."

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I never thought I would be doing a book review. I won't even bother calling this a review because all I have is praise for this book. No regrets in reading this. I wish I had a real copy of this book since I only have ebooks. Everyone refuses to buy me books now because of ~ebooks~ and I don't have money to buy them myself. ヽ(≧Д≦)ノ

Anyway, if you're into romance, then this book is perfect for you! This isn't your predictable love story that you already know who ends up with who and what's going to happen next. It's like a really pretty love fantasy. I wouldn't say there wasn't any adventure in it. The rebel attacks (spoiler!) counted a bit as a really teensy bit of adventure to me. You're going to fall in and out of love with the protagonist, America Singer. (Yes, her name is America.) and insanely mad at her love interests. I JUST REALLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ALL OF YOU IF ANYONE EVEN READS THIS. For the romantic people, I bet you wouldn't stop turning the pages till you reach the end. And those who aren't very romantic, I think you'll still enjoy. You might cringe a bit if you really hate romance.

35 girls came to the palace. Only 6 remain.

Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.

America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.

Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

AHHHH. The sequel to The Selection was a very frustrating book for me. Emphasis on very. The first 50+ pages were steady but then something very terrible happens and then Maxon goes all hshjksdfdfalfejfve which leads to America becoming ajsdashdwehfioewf. Then there is Aspen and he is akjsdhakdhas. You'll gave to read it to understand what I mean. Even though it was very frustrating, it was still a very good read. The rebel attacks have become more frequent and America does something very big and MAXON'S FATHER. I hope that's enough to make you want to read this trilogy.

The third and last book, 'The One' comes out next year and I'm dying to read it already. I can't wait to find out what happens!!

You've Got It Made

Ice cream vendor man^

Me and my family went to Morong, Bataan last week. The beach wasn't that spectacular or anything. There weren't even any waves and there was A LOT of trash (Napkins and diapers ew.)(People. Sigh.) Huhu. Sad to say I spent most of my time swimming in the pool instead of the beach. I enjoyed the sand though. I always enjoy the sand.

One of my favorite things about our trip was the roadtrip all the way here. I'm known to be prone to motion sickness and being really paranoid about going up the mountain in a car and all those zig zaggy roads. Despite all that, I really enjoyed this trip. I didn't get assaulted by motion sickness and I was listening to very good music and I was very comfy in my seat and I enjoyed looking out the window. (Window seats are the best.)

I tried to be a turtle but the sand said no.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of making the perfect sandcastle. I always attempt to make a really nice one every time I go to a beach. So,

Despite the very mean comments my mom and tito had about my sand castle, I think it is a very lovely sand castle. :-(

I even put shells on the side of my castle and two towers on each side of the castle. HAHA I TRIED

Pretty sunset!!

That's pretty much it for our vacation. I did a lot of swimming and frolicking in the sand and it was really nice to just swim. I think I have turned into a nigger. I really enjoyed but I kind of wish the beach was a bit better he he. Oh and long roadtrips are nice but they make my butt hurt.

Also, we ate at Pepper Lunch in Harbor Point, Subic. I'm saying this because I love Pepper Lunch. It has replaced my obsession for Bon Chon. I'm sorry Bon Chon.

Bazooka Rocks II

This is the line up for Bazooka Rocks II!!! Proud to say I was part of BRF last year and I'll be sure to go to this year's brf too. I like the line up as much as I did with last year. What's better is that the ticket prices stay the same. Unlike last year, the ticket price went up every month.

I'm really excited about All Time Low and A Rocket To The Moon. ESPECIALLY ARTTM. As everyone knows, or nobody knows, ARTTM has decided to call it quits after the 8123 tour but lucky Manila gets one last show with them. Hence the "ONE LAST NIGHT WITH -"

("Ew she's only going for ATL and ARTTM")

Yes. And no.Yes, I'm going to brf for them. This would be my first time seeing ATL and my last time seeing ARTTM. This is both heartbreaking and exciting at the same time. No, I'm not just going for them only. I'm excited to see Radiodriveby and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (Mmm, gradeschool days.) and I'm going to make sure to give the other bands a listen!

You want to know what's heartbreaking? Fast passes for ATL and ARTTM are sold out already.Which really hurts to the point I kind of sobbed for ARTTM. It may be my last chance to thank them and tell them how much I love them and that I'll always be on their side. This hurts because I was already planning on what to do and give. (Fast passes = M&G) and I really hope and really want/need to get my hands on a fast pass.

Still a pretty long way till August so till then, I'm not losing hope for a fast pass. If I don't at least I get to see them live right? (*Emotionally breaks down and rolls self into cat litter*)

ATC Salta

Salta - Jump.

I went to town with Audrie and Kate (plus Kate's family) a week ago or so and there was an event going on which I was completely unaware of as usual. (Unless you tell me about it personally.)

We came across a really cool group called #thelightswitch and they had this project going on. I think they called it 6 Degrees Of Seperation. They would take your photo in black and white and post it then you would connect yourself to anyone you wanted or to anyone you knew. But I don't really know. In Audrie's words, "a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend."

We went to Jamba after we had our photos because OATMEAL AND BANANAS.

Me and Audrie went around town after we brought Kate to her ~singing lessons~ we went to this shop where there were really cool cameras and film for instax and we were hating on how poor we were and if we had the money, we would do so much with it. We were tired so we just sat in front of the lightswitch and waited for our photos to be developed and posted.

Kate got placed just beside Jerwin!
Spot the string connecting me and Audrie.
There were some artists drawing caricatures for a cheap price and after Audrie went with her dad, Ate Bhing treated me to a caricature with Kate!!! After that, she treated me Pepper Lunch. Forever treated as one of Ate Bhing's children.

Two weeks ago, I spent two days watching DIY videos and this week, I finally got to do something like that.

Jean strips!
~ Distressed jeans ~

Finished product! It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to though. I put too much bleach... What a waste of jeans but it was my first try so it's okay. (I just really liked those jeans and they would've made great shorts if  I didn't put too much bleach.)

The second pair of jeans I cut up.

This pair turned out better than the last. This time, I bleached the bottom part. AND I USED THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF BLEACH. No photos of the finished product because I was too lazy.

Movies At The Park

My mom and I decided to go out for some dessert because she was craving for something sweet. We ended up at Greenbelt somehow and we were surprised to see a huge tv screen with tables and chairs set up in front of it! Events like these make me love Ayala even more.

The movie they were playing was Clueless. According to my  mom, it was an old movie and was really "in" during their time. It was a really nice movie.

The iPhone's camera is really great.
My all time favorite from Starbucks, Strawberries n Cream! I don't know what Mama's was though. (Fact: I hate coffee)

OREO CHEESECAKE! I've been craving for a slice of cheesecake the past few days.

Also, I got my nails painted blue today!

Video Games

I spent the second day of May playing video games!! I have a huge love for video games ever since I was a grade schooler. Especially for games that are... my type. I don't know how to explain my "type." but I love zombie games but not the really scary ones. I love, love, love the Resident Evil series!

I used to have a game boy, but I GAVE IT AWAY. Who knows what that person has done with it. I miss it terribly though. I used to have a Nintendo DS, but I LOST IT. Apparently I was just a really bad case of misfortune when I was younger. The games that have attached themselves to my heart are Pokemon, Harvest Moon and The World Ends With You.

So today, I decided to do ~something~ so I could be able to play DS games again. Praise everything, it worked! So I just wasted my day on these games.

My emotions went wild when I first read this again. It's a great feeling you know?

I would normally name the character with it's default name, but over the years I've grown to love my name.

No more screenshots of Pokemon. I haven't gotten very far... I chose Pinplup as my starter though!

This was the game I wasted my day on. I will always have a love for Harvest Moon games. I love you Natsume for making these and. It's Natsume right...?

At the start of the game I fall of my carriage/cart and pass out....
On my second day, the mayor and Jessica gave me a cow and a chicken. Thoughtful people.
I named the cow Moomoo because that's what I called cows before. I think. And Chicky? Blame Neil for the incredibly corny chicken name. (Just kidding, I like the name.)

5000G FOR A CAT. I have 3000+G at the moment.
They give me back the horse I fell off on the way to the village.

I have to do a front/back flip to get on and off my horse.

Me, meeting Cam. I WILL MARRY THIS MAN.
That's it for now. I love video games.
